Presentation of the results from the ICOMON Survey 2008
This year, The ICOMON Board commissioned a survey to better understand the practices of its member museums. By sharing collections and conservation expertise, interpretation and exhibition skills, and research and scholarship, it will improve the way museums care for and use their collections, for the benefit of their audiences, as well as strengthening international links and networks. The 2008 results range from storage options and organization practices of member museums, exhibition design and goals, funding options, as well as future planning for outreach and collections management. Not only will these results be invaluable for ICOMON members, they will also be used for developing a set of online resources for non-specialist curators of money collections, linked to a specialist training programme, as well as assist in the creation of a uniform standard of practice for all numismatic museums.
