ICOMON history
In 1994, a group of money, mint, and bank museum personnel met at the Bank of England, London. The aim was to formally set up a new international committee of ICOM, formalizing a community of museums that already existed. The aim, to form an organization with museological concerns, parallel and complementary to the International Numismatic Commission.
